eBay is paying $310 million for ticket-trading site StubHub. From Dawn Patrol:
eBay went head to head with StubHub, and it was the customer service that gave StubHub a shot against the giant. The startup has also done a very good job of locking down deals with various sports teams. Sort of sad to see it get subsumed by eBay, but if StubHub can bring its approach to service to the rest of eBay it will make a lot of sports fans, concert-goers, and tractor-pull fans happy. Is it me, or is eBay's core business getting stale?
If you can't beat 'em, buy 'em.
